Works with Skin Ultra & Connect software

DISPLAX object recognition works with DISPLAX Skin Ultra (up to 55”) touch sensor, and is configured with DISPLAX Connect software, providing a clean experience.

Characteristics of Object Recognition

Detect and recognize multiple objects

Based on projected capacitive technology

DISPLAX object recognition works with projected capacitive (PCAP) technology. The capacitive touch screen is activated by human touch, or in this case conductive tags of object recognition, which serves as an electrical conductor to stimulate the electrostatic field of the touch screen. The object is recognized when the tags interfere with the electric field projected above the surface. This change in capacitance is detected by the controller which interprets the X and Y coordinates of the event.

Unaffected by light condition

Object Recognition works with projected capacitive technology, that features a clear and highly transparent touch sensor. Therefore, the display image quality will remain pristine and unaffected, providing an uncompromised viewing experience.

Tags with no battery

The object recognition tags require no power or battery. They are passive, which gives them much more flexibility and durability.

No additional costs

The object recognition is featured in Skin Ultra, so you do not have to incur any extra costs for the object recognition features. The Connect software is also offered free of charge.

The requirements for DISPLAX embedded object recognition are:

  • Skin Ultra, up to 55’’
  • 4 mm glass thickness
  • Low EMI LCD
  • DISPLAX official tags
  • DISPLAX Connect 1.13
  • TUIO 2.0 protocol
  • Client multimedia application

Make it unique

Object recognition can embed brand’s elements in the interactive content to engage and educate customers with their purchases, and also personalize their shopping experience. The interactivity of the content transfers the brand’s message more easily and brings excitement to the users, which can position the brand in the mind and heart of consumers differently leading to faster customer acquisition.

Features and benefits

Engage users with interactive content

Benefiting from projected capacitive (PCAP) technology, object recognition can provide information and interactive contents in a way that users get engaged like never before. It brings customers into a deeper relationship with your products and services, allowing them to walk through a story and be educated rather than pitched.

Have a unique configuration tool

Object Recognition software requires our featured activation software, Connect. Find out more about it at CONNECT page.

Immersive multimedia experience

You can create interactive content with object recognition to engage users with a unique experience on displays up to 55”. Conductive tags enable the products to be recognized as smart objects, so that the customers can move them on multitouch surfaces and browse products’ information.

Running on an established protocol

DISPLAX object recognition runs on TUIO 2.0, which is a very well known and well accepted industry standard communication protocol. Since it has a wide spread usage, there are many documentations available for it, which in turn making the integration easy!

Hassle free software integration

The software layer for the object recognition has been made in a way that you can simply integrate it in-house with some minimum software knowledge or you can hire any third party software developer to create the front-end multimedia application.

Make your objects interactive content

The object recognition is smart enough to detect object’s position and motion. It enables the movement of the objects on multitouch surfaces.
